Yassi Esmaili, Architect Iran

Yasaman is from Tehran, Iran. She received a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Tehran, a Master of Architecture from the University of Arizona and a Master of Science in Design Computing from the University of Washington. Yasaman is experienced in the areas of housing, mixed-use, education, public projects and urban design and has practiced in the U.S., Iran and Turkey. Yasaman is the founder of studio chahar, a research-based architecture practice formed as a platform for collaborations that create a positive social, economic and aesthetic impact.

Elizabeth Golden, AIA

Elizabeth is from Fayetteville, Arkansas. She received her Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Arkansas and a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University, GSAPP. She has over a decade of professional experience gained while working for internationally recognized firms in Rome, New York, and Berlin on projects ranging from boutique interiors to large scale urban developments. She is the author of the book Building from Tradition: Local Materials and Methods in Contemporary Architecture, as well as the founder of the hybrid practice Golden Architecture + Design.

Mariam Kamara, Architect Niger

Mariam is from Niamey, Niger. She received her Bachelor of Science in Information Systems with a minor in Fine Arts from Purdue University, her Master in Computer Science from New York University, and her Master of Architecture from the University of Washington. She is registered with the Order of Architects in Niger. Mariam is experienced in the areas of housing, public works, education, and urban design projects and has worked in the U.S. and in Niger. She leads the architecture firm atelier masōmī based in Niamey.

Philip Sträter, Designer

Philip is from Munich, Germany. He received his Bachelor of Architecture and Urban Design from the University of Applied Sciences in Potsdam, Germany. Prior to united➃design, Philip worked for the award-winning German firm, Sauerbruch Hutton. Philip is experienced in the areas of higher education, mixed-use and housing, and has worked in both the U.S. and in Germany.
